Description
Margaret Morse Nice, 1883-1974, grew up in Amherst, MA and attended Mount Holyoke College. She went on to become one of the leading researchers of bird behavior. This program provides an overview of her long life, with glimpses of birdwatching in the Connecticut River Valley over a century ago, the foundations of ethology (the study of behavior in an ecological and evolutionary context), and classic studies of bird behavior, including warbler nesting studies done in Pelham.
