Designed for teens entering grades 11, who are returning to Wildwood for a second year of the Leaders-in-Training (LIT) program. The group will learn even more about land protection, ecological management, invasive species, and other environmental topics of interest from program directors, Mass Audubon scientists, and community environmental leaders. Returning LITs are accepted by application only.
Second-Year LITs (Leaders-In-Action) dive deeper into leadership with hands-on environmental conservation projects. Past examples have included: developing an outdoor education area, performing an inventory of key species at Wildwood. A three-week session gives teens an extended period of time to make a difference at Wildwood and in the greater Monadnock region, further developing their leadership abilities.
LITs finish each session with take-home skills they can build on for years to come—at home, at school, and in their communities.
