Ramblers conduct ecosystem investigations at Stony Brook. On daily outings, they use their senses to identify familiar species of plants and animals. Ramblers are encouraged to explore their own areas of interest and further develop their social skills as they participate in activities, games, and crafts.

Theme: Down & Dirty Science

Explore the importance of soil and how it relates to plants and biodiversity. Look at compaction, erosion, and sedimentation. Themed activities will include seed planting, beaver dam building, and natural paint brushes and mud painting. Soil testing for Explorers and Ramblers, and soil exploration for Wanderers and Discoverers, will have everyone investigating the mysteries beneath their feet.
