Join us on New Year's morning to celebrate the beauty of winter and its birds! Choose one of three different locations across Essex County to look for Snowy Owl, Barred Owl, Snow Bunting, Iceland Gull, Harlequin Duck, Common Redpoll, Pileated Woodpecker, and more. Each participant will receive a follow-up message highlighting all the birds observed by all three groups.

Instructions and Directions:

Meet at Joppa Flats Education Center. From there we will travel by Mass Audubon vans and carpool to the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge and other spots.

Mass Audubon and the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge encourage carpooling to reduce the number of vehicles. Participants who choose not to carpool by driving without at least one passenger will be surcharged $5.00.

Bring binoculars, a field guide to birds, and a scope if you have one. Wear clothing and footwear appropriate for the weather and terrain.

Mass Audubon Cancellation Policy: If you wish to cancel less than seven days prior to the program, refunds cannot be issued. If we cancel the program, you will be refunded in full.
