Now in its 26th year, Wednesday Morning Birding gives birders of all skill levels excellent exposure to the hot spots in one of the most productive birding areas in the country. Each Wednesday throughout the year (except July), we'll travel by Mass Audubon vans and carpooling to focus our field trip on the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge, Plum Island, the Merrimack River estuary, and other locations around Essex County.
PLEASE NOTE: Wednesday Morning Birding is cancelled on May 4.
Preregistration is not necessary. Four-trip special: $64 for Mass Audubon members, $78 for nonmembers. Trips need not be consecutive for special price. Please call or email to sign up for program announcements, updates, and birding reports via our Wednesday Morning Birding email list.
Meet at Joppa Flats Education Center. From there, we'll travel by Mass Audubon vans. Masks are optional both outdoors and indoors. However, anyone wishing to travel in a Mass Audubon vehicle must wear a mask and present their vaccination record (actual or photo) for visual confirmation. Carpooling is encouraged for those who do not wish to travel in a Mass Audubon vehicle.
Wear clothing and footwear appropriate for the weather and the terrain. Bring a field guide, binoculars, and a scope if you have one.
