Start a new maple sugaring tradition by renting your own sugaring bucket for yourself, your family, or as the perfect gift. Join our sugaring experts on Saturday, February 23, for a two-hour interactive program and experience this lovely New England tradition.
Tours start with a short lesson on tree identification, and then take a short hike down to our maple grove to tap your own tree. After drilling into the sapwood and hammering in your spile, listen as the first sap of the season drips into your bucket. Afterwards, visit our steamy sugarhouse to see the sap boiled down into syrup, and enjoy a sampling of pancakes straight off the grill topped with our fresh maple syrup.
Your bucket rental helps support the mission of our sanctuary and includes:
* A two-hour hands-on opportunity to tap a sugar maple on Saturday, February 23 Please note: the 10:00 am-12:00 pm session has filled, so we have added another session from 1:30-3:30 pm.
* An 8-ounce bottle of Ipswich River maple syrup at season's end
* A certificate of "rental," attractively printed and suitable for gift-giving
