The Habitat Intergenerational Program (HIP) invites volunteers to help with spring projects around the Habitat sanctuary in Belmont. Join us for a morning of environmental stewardship!
Harvest compost, clean up the gardens, spread wood chips on trails, restore a grass field, or remove invasive plants.
Register for one project session.
For volunteers aged 14 and up.
Prior registration is required, but there is no program fee.

Work will be done outside. We will use loppers to cut and weed wrenches to pull out invasive bittersweet and buckthorn. Please dress for the weather. Bring your own work gloves. Face masks must be worn at all times.
Habitat is located at 10 Juniper Road. The sanctuary is best accessed from Tyler Road off Prospect Street. Note: Somerset street is very bumpy and best avoided.
PLEASE NOTE: This program will be conducted in accordance with current Municipal, State, and Mass Audubon Covid-19 protocols. Groups are limited to 10 preregistered participants. Program staff and participants are required to wear a face covering and follow social distancing guidelines. A detailed confirmation letter will be emailed at least 24 hours before the program.
