In this 6-week series we will learn about the weather typical for our New England Spring as well as seasonal changes in weather patterns. We will construct a simple barometer and anemometer and discuss their uses in interpreting the weather. We'll look at weather maps, learn how to interpret them, and consider the various types of clouds and what they indicate about coming weather. There will also be lively conversation about climate change and how taking simple action steps in our own personal lives can have an effect on the increasing intensity and frequency of the extreme weather around us.
Classes will be held outdoors except for extreme inclement weather. Health forms are required for drop off students. Families are always welcome to remain on the sanctuary.
Homeschool classes for ages 5-7 and 12-16 year olds meet at the same time.
This program will be conducted in accordance with current municipal, state, and Mass Audubon Covid-19 protocols. This program will meet and take place outdoors. Masks or face coverings are required for activities where participants need to move inside or during close contact outside. There will be opportunities for mask breaks as needed. A detailed confirmation letter will be emailed 24 hours before the program.
We look forward to learning with you!
