The spring has sprung for the frogs and salamanders in our wetlands!

As soon as our vernal pools and wetlands thaw, they come alive with the excited sounds and movements of frogs, salamanders, and insects. Ever wonder what they are calling about at night, or how to identify specific calls of wood frogs, spring peepers, and chorus frogs? Then this is the class for you. On this night hike, we will learn about frog calls, salamander coloration, and how different species are active at different times throughout spring. The instructor may even get the chance to call in a barred owl! Bring a flashlight or headlamp, and dress for the weather.

Classes will be held outdoors except for extreme inclement weather. PLEASE NOTE: Due to COVID-19 safety protocols, advance registration is required. No walk ins allowed. Online registration closes 24 hours before program begins. Social distancing and wearing a mask or other face covering are required. Group size is limited.

At this time, due to COVID-19 regulations on group size, we are unable to accommodate accompanying family members unless they register and pay for the program.

Parents and non-participating siblings are always welcome to remain at the sanctuary.

Registration is required.
