Spring pulses with waves of vocal feathered migrants. Waterfowl and hawk wing through, shorebirds drop in on wet fields, and new neotropical migrants arrive weekly. This course combines lectures with field trips to various locations in Central Massachusetts. In class we'll learn migration dynamics and bird song, then explore great regional birding areas from Worcester County's eastern border to the Connecticut River.

Instructions and Directions:

Transportation not provided, carpooling is encouraged and can be organized in class. Storm dates for field trips may be the following day.Suitable for moderate-advanced birders. Bring binoculars, field guide, and notebook.
