Be awed by ice! In this two-hour program we'll discover the beauty and science of ice as we hike along Arcadia's trails. Learn how ice is formed, see the amazing variety of shapes it can take, and understand the stories it tells us about our land and our climate. We'll see first-hand the effects of ice on four different types of landscape - field, forest, pond, and river - and look at winter ice in a whole new way.

Be sure to dress for the weather. This hike will be approximately 1.5 miles over easy trails. There are rocks and roots, as well as some small hills. Trails will be icy, so ice-walkers or micro-spikes are highly recommended.

Instructions and Directions:

The program will take place entirely outdoors, however indoor restrooms are available. Participants are required to wear a facemask when indoors.

Registration is required.
