Enjoy upstate New York's Adirondacks for a three day autumn getaway. Late September should provide us with beautiful foliage in this mountainous region that has much in common with boreal forests further north. We will visit both forested and wetland areas looking for birds, plants and wildlife. Each day will include a few short (1-3 mile) hikes exploring different habitats. We will also visit the Wild Center, an indoor /outdoor interpretive museum which includes live animals and interactive exhibits, and highlights the 'Wild Walk,' an elevated trail in the tree canopy.
Meet at Arcadia at 8:00 am Wednesday and return on Friday at 6:00 p.m. Fee includes travel, two guides, double-occupancy lodging , and museum admission. Participants pay for their own meals. Private rooms available for and additional $125. full payment for the trip is due by June 29.
