Atlas 1 Volunteers and Contributors

Over 650 volunteers and contributors participated in the Massachusetts Breeding Bird Atlas 1 project. Some of these individuals gave up many days and weeks of their time during the course of the six-year Atlas 1 period, while others participated only for a few hours during a single year. Regardless of the amount of energy invested, the project could not have been successfully completed without the combined effort of these many dedicated volunteers and contributors.

Because of unforeseen delays in the publication of Massachusetts Breeding Bird Atlas 1, reconstructing the volunteer list of all those who participated in the project was not easy. As a consequence, if there are individuals who participated in the Atlas 1 effort whose names do not appear in the list that follows, they can be assured that the omission of their names was not deliberate. The contributions of any such missing individuals were valued no less than those of individuals whose names appear in the following list.
