Celebrating 40,000 Acres & the Extraordinary Benefits They Yield
From the eastern shore of Nantucket to Yokun Seat in the Berkshires—and over 200 places in between—Mass Audubon now protects more than 40,000 acres of land in Massachusetts. And we're not done yet!
Our recently released Action Agenda calls for us to directly protect an additional 10,000 acres by 2026 (a four-fold increase in pace) and to lead a public/private coalition working together to ensure 30% of Massachusetts is protected by 2030.
Protecting ecologically significant and resilient land is one of the most tangible and powerful ways we have to combat climate change, provide inclusive and equitable access to nature, preserve biodiversity, and generate human health benefits.
As we move forward at an accelerated pace, these milestones and collective results of our past efforts inspire us to do more to protect the nature of Massachusetts for people and wildlife.
