US National Park Service Drafting a Comprehensive Shorebird Management Plan
The magnificent beaches of the Cape Cod National Seashore provide important nesting and migration habitat for the threatened piping plover and endangered roseate tern. The Seashore also provides significant habitat for other state and federally listed species including the least tern, common tern, red knot, and American oystercatcher.
The Seashore currently manages its shorebirds under a 1994 plan, which is it in the process of updating. See the new plan here along with our comments on the draft.
