New Grant Will Help Fund Stormwater Outreach

Mass Audubon has received a $25,900 grant from the Massachusetts Environmental Trust (MET) for our work educating children and adults throughout central Massachusetts on improving water quality and habitat, focusing on the use of cost-effective Green Infrastructure and Low Impact Development (LID).

This funding will help us showcase how LID protects land and water resources, and new and improved facilities at Broad Meadow Brook Conservation Center & Wildlife Sanctuary will help illustrate how LID techniques can help with water management in an urban environment. See our press release for details:

According to Program Director Bill Hinkley, MET will provide roughly $500,000 in grants to twelve organizations this year, thanks to motorists who choose to purchase one of the Trust’s specialty license plates. Visit www.mass.gov/eea/met to learn more about the Trust, the programs it supports, and the specialty license plate offerings.
