About This Position

Mass Audubon’s Boston Nature center is looking for an experienced Property Manager with an interest in environmental conservation and restoration. The Property Manager is responsible for managing the grounds of a beautiful urban 67-acre wildlife sanctuary with a nature center, community gardens and two miles of trails. More than 15,000 people visit the nature center annually, walking the trails, utilizing the community event space, and taking part in educational programs such as nature preschool, camp, and public programs.  

The Property Manager is responsible for the maintenance, security, and the general upkeep of grounds and buildings. The George Robert White Environmental Conservation Center is a net zero, carbon neutral, building featuring a host of green technologies. The Property Manager is responsible for the preventative maintenance needed for all systems and supervises all contracted work. 

As part of the management team, the Property Manager plans for the Boston region and ensures that all property and safety protocols are in place at the sanctuary. They work closely with the Regional Scientist to plan and implement an ecological management plan to restore and maintain healthy habitats.   

The Property Manager supervises property staff and works weekly with volunteer groups and contractors on a variety of projects that are essential to the restoration of the grounds, the daily operation of a visitor center, educational programs, and the safe visitation of the sanctuary by community members. The Property Manager ensures that Mass Audubon and its sanctuaries are inclusive and welcoming so more people have access and can connect with the joys of nature.
