Per Diem Field Teacher

Location: Topsfield, MA
Sanctuary: Ipswich River

Are you passionate about the environment, love to be outdoors and want to share your knowledge of the natural world with others? Would you like to share that passion with young children and school groups? Ipswich River Wildlife sanctuary is looking to hire capable, enthusiastic educators to join our current team of trained and experienced field teachers to teach onsite and offsite school programs. Must be able to teach at least one day a week when programs are running; multiple days are encouraged.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age 
  • Has or is working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Education, Education, Biology or related field (or comparable experience) 
  • Has experience working with children
  • Able to work independently and with other staff members as part of a team 
  • Must hold a valid MA driver’s license 
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds 
  • Successful candidates will need to pass a background records check (CORI and SORI) 

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation is $12.00 per hour
