About This Position

The Nature in the City Program Coordinator works directly with the Senior Director of the Nature in the City (NITC) Program to protect, restore, and activate urban greenspaces with people living in disinvested neighborhoods across the state. Specifically, the NITC coordinator assists in the development of NITC city-specific strategies in multiple cities (Boston, Cambridge, Fall River, Lawrence, Lowell, New Bedford, Springfield, and Worcester, among others). The strategies address land protection, nature-based education, ecological restoration, and advocacy efforts with the goal of increasing access to nature.

The Program Coordinator assists in the management of ongoing activities and partnerships in cities where Mass Audubon has begun its NITC program (Boston, Cambridge, Lowell). This position also supports the NITC Senior Director in the development of program-wide processes, such as best practice documents, evaluation strategies, and administrative reporting. The Program Coordinator works with Mass Audubon staff from multiple departments to bring together the technical expertise and regional support that best meets the needs of each NITC city.
