The Corporate, Foundation and Government Relations Coordinator is a support function working closely with front line fundraisers to provide administrative and project management skills to engage Mass Audubon’s robust portfolio of institutional donors. The ideal candidate will bring project administration skills, as well as research capacity, revenue tracking experience and data management experience to fill a critical and dynamic role on an expanding team working across all parts of a large non-profit organization. The position will also include growth potential to manage a portfolio of small institutional donors.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support relationship managers in their work to cultivate, solicit and steward a portfolio of donors by contributing to development of funder materials—e.g., proposals, reports, email updates, and financial reports.
  • In coordination with relationship managers and program staff, develop realistic and efficient timelines and help manage process workflow for proposal and reporting deadlines.
  • Draft acknowledgement letters, proofread and/or edit funder materials as well as internal communications.
  • Maintain timely and accurate donor information in Mass Audubon’s customer relationship management (CRM) database.
  • Maintain financial projections, as well as track and analyze various fundraising metrics and activities.
  • Assist with donor research and keep abreast of Mass Audubon’s priorities to help portfolio managers identify alignment with funding opportunities.
  • Provide administrative support including processing and tracking department correspondence; scheduling, attending and taking notes for internal meetings; scheduling supervisor’s and team members’ meetings.
  • In coordination with a CFG mentor, gradually develop skills to manage a small portfolio of institutional donors.

Must Haves:

  • Two related work experiences including work requiring self-organization and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to respond to rapidly changing priorities, meet deadlines, and work as an effective team member.
  • Ability to relate to and work with a diverse range of people and exercise cultural awareness and inclusion, and commitment to self-education about social justice (we provide ongoing training).

 

Nice to Haves:

  • Interest in environmental issues and/or education (existing knowledge will supplemented with ongoing learning opportunities).
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within Massachusetts. We provide vehicles as required for work-related travel (not for commuting).
  • A minimum of two (2) years of administrative and project management experience, preferably in a non-profit or academic setting.

Compensation & Benefits

This position’s base salary range is $45,000- $55,000 actual salary will reflect level of experience and qualifications relative to position requirements.

Additional Information

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position, though flexible hours and work location – within reason – may be negotiated.

Other Requirements:

Employees must successfully complete a CORI and SORI Background Check and a Motor Vehicle Record (if applicable) is required.

COVID-19 Considerations

Mass Audubon requires that all staff, regardless of their work location, disclose their vaccination status. Proof of vaccination status will be required immediately upon hire. This should also include a booster shot if it has been 5 months since you were initially vaccinated.
