About This Position
We are seeking a caring, friendly person who is interested in working with children and youth and spending the summer outdoors to be the Behavior & Inclusion Coordinator (part-time) at Broadmoor Nature Camp in Natick, MA.
This position, working together with the camp administrative team, is responsible for promoting mental, social and emotional health of campers ages 4-17 and staff. The Behavior & Inclusion Coordinator spends each day walking around the site, visiting with camp groups and checking in on campers. Duties & Responsibilities
Work alongside the camp administrative team to support the health and well-being of all campers and staff.
- Assist the Camp Director Team and Health Care Staff to identify and communicate with caregivers whose campers may need support during their camp sessions, review relevant documents (IEPs, family communications), and maintain contact with families throughout their session;
- Train, brief and assist counselors with techniques for working with campers’ behavioral, mental, social, and emotional needs, including campers with special needs (autism, ADHD, non-verbal, sensory integration, etc.);
- Provide direct care to staff and campers within the scope of your skills, the camp’s health care manual, and treatment procedures;
- Communicate via radio with staff to check in with camp groups, respond to calls, check in with camp groups before, during and after the camp day;
- Keep detailed notes of conversations with caregivers, campers, staff; and follow up on needs.

We are looking for applicants with the following qualifications:
- Applicants must be at least 21 years old, have documented experience and enjoy working with children and/or youth with special needs;
- Demonstrated ability to promote and respect diversity;
- Must have ability to quickly get to remote locations on camp property over uneven terrain;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to use computer (Microsoft Office, email);
- Must have community CPR/First Aid certifications current through August 2022 or willing to obtain before June (we will offer a class).
Nice to Have’s:
- Preferably holds a bachelor’s degree or higher in Counseling, Therapy, Psychology or related field.
Compensation & Benefits
This position’s base compensation range is $17-19 per hour; actual salary will reflect level of experience and qualifications relative to position requirements.

This is not a benefits eligible position.
Monday– Friday, 8 am – 12 pm OR 12 pm – 4 pm
Training (paid): June 6–17 Camp: June 20–August 12 (end date is flexible)
Employees must successfully complete a CORI and SORI Background Check and a Motor Vehicle Record (if applicable) is required.
Mass Audubon requires that all staff, regardless of their work location, disclose their vaccination status. Proof of vaccination status will be required immediately upon hire. This should also include a booster shot if it has been 5 months since you were initially vaccinated.
