Cape Cod Bird Sightings — Tuesday, May 25, 2021
The following sightings were reported between May 19–25, 2021.
A Wilson’s Phalarope and a Sora were found at Mass Audubon's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary this week.
In Falmouth, an Acadian Flycatcher was found at John’s Pond and a Red-headed Woodpecker was at Peterson Farm. Other sightings around town included 2 Chuck-Will’s-Widow at the annual location off Elain Ave and 2 Blue Grosbeaks at Crane WMA.
Sightings at Race Point in Provincetown included 2 Black Guillemots, 2 Little Gulls, 400 Bonaparte’s Gulls, 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, a Glaucous Gull, 1200 Common Terns, and 11 Manx Shearwaters.
Other sightings around the Cape this week included a Summer Tanager in Mashpee, a Least Bittern and a Tricolored Heron in West Harwich, Little Blue Herons in Yarmouth and Eastham, 4 Wilson’s Snipe and a Northern Bobwhite at Nauset Beach in Orleans, 3 Pine Siskins in Provincetown, and continuing flocks of up to 18 Red Crossbills various places.
