Cape Cod Bird Sightings — Tuesday, December 29, 2020
The following sightings were reported between December 22–28, 2020.
The Pink-footed Goose continues at Eldredge Field and Boland Pond in Orleans, and two Snow Geese were found at Monomoy High School on Harwich.
A Western Tanager continues to visit a feeder in Brewster.
The boat-based Stellwagen Christmas Bird count was held on Sunday the 27th, with highlights including an Atlantic Puffin, 3 Dovekies, 67 Common Murres, and 6 Pomarine Jaegers.
Highlights from the Mid Cape Cod Christmas Bird count also held on Sunday, and covering from Sandwich to Dennis, included a state late record for Tennessee Warbler, a House Wren, a Eurasian Wigeon, several Baltimore Orioles, both White-winged and Red Crossbills, and Evening Grosbeaks.
Other sightings around the Cape this week included 6 Black Vultures in Bourne, an Eastern Phoebe in East Falmouth, up to 20 continuing Evening Grosbeaks in Wellfleet, and 4 Tree Swallows in Truro.
