Cape Cod Bird Sightings — Tuesday, December 21, 2021

The following sightings were reported December 15–21, 2021.

The Bell’s Vireo was rediscovered at Fort Hill in Eastham this week.

At Race Point in Provincetown sightings this week included a Pacific Loon, a Manx Shearwater, an Atlantic Puffin, a Western Sandpiper, 4 Dovekies, a Thick-billed Murre, 34 Common Murres, a Black Guillemot, 1348 Razorbills, 410 Black-legged Kittiwakes, a Glaucous Gull, 11 Iceland Gulls, 700 Northern Gannets, and a Snowy Owl.

Reports from West Dennis included 20 Ruddy Turnstones, 21 Black-bellied Plovers, a Lesser Black-backed Gull, and 2 Snowy Owls.

Other sightings around the Cape this week included Eastern Phoebes in Mashpee and Falmouth, a Vesper Sparrow in Falmouth, 5 Barred Owls in Mashpee, 2 Sora in Orleans, and 2 Blue-winged Teal, a hybrid Common Goldeneye x Hooded Merganser, and a Prairie Warbler in Chatham.
