Get ready to experience all the excitement of our annual live auction fundraiser without leaving your home! We've gone digital this year so you can stay safe while supporting the sanctuary's conservation and education programs.

Register for the auction now so you're ready to start bidding as soon as it opens! We'll send a text or an email reminder so you can make plans to join the fun.

Bidding begins on Friday, August 21, and runs through Thursday, August 27.

Online Auction Preview

Over the past four months, many of us have passed the time by learning new skills and planning future expeditions. And Wellfleet Bay's first-ever Wild, Wild Auction can bring you to a new level in your journey.

Here's a sneak peek at some of the exciting items that will be available during this year's online event. Many more unique and close-to-home auction items await your bid!

Box Turtle Tracking

Join veteran turtle tracker and Eastern Box Turtle researcher Tim O'Brien on a 2-hour outing to locate some of the sanctuary's radio-tagged turtles! Enjoy a short presentation about this state-listed species before heading out to help Tim find, measure, and weigh live box turtles.

Hiking Backwoods & Beaches

Take the road less traveled and cover new ground on this half-day, guided hike led by Wellfleet Bay Sanctuary Director Melissa Lowe. Explore approximately 5 miles of wooded trails, sandy beaches, and dirt roads in Truro or Wellfleet (your choice), then enjoy a satisfying picnic lunch and cold drink at the end!

Aquaculture Grant Tour & Reception

Oyster-man extraordinaire William "Chopper" Young, Jr. will lead your party of 10 on a private aquaculture grant tour at Indian Neck, home of the renowned Wellfleet Bay Oyster. Learn about the human and natural history of American oysters, then enjoy a private raw bar reception at the sanctuary.

Birds, Brews, & BBQ

Join Wellfleet Bay naturalist and birder Joel Wagner for a morning of birding, followed by a visit to Cape Cod Beer in Hyannis for a tour of the facility, a sampling of their beer styles, and a little BBQ. Whether you are a bird-nerd, beer-geek, or both, you will be sure to enjoy this experience!

Private Marine Life & Fishing Cruise

Hop aboard the Albatross fishing boat with a group of your family and friends for an exciting 2-hour ocean excursion led by Wellfleet Bay marine educator Morgan Peck. Search for pelagic birds, report Mola Mola sightings, and try your hand at hauling up a scallop drag and lobster pots.
