Join us on Wednesday, July 25, from 3:30-4:30 pm to meet children’s authors Corinne Demas and her daughter Artemis Roehrig—both longtime Wellfleet Bay summer residents fascinated by native wildlife. The mother-daughter duo behind the engaging Do Fiddler Crabs Fiddle? is back back with a new book dedicated to the world of entomology.

There are at least 900,000 species of insects in the world—with millions more yet to be discovered—and Do Doodlebugs Doodle? focuses on some of the species that have especially quirky, captivating, and sometimes downright silly names.

Take fireflies, for instance: “Do they roast marshmallows?” the book asks.

Each funny question the authors ask is then followed by an answer containing solid science. Imaginative and colorful artwork by illustrator Ellen Shi make the book’s entertaining questions even more engaging.
