Nature Play at Wachusett Meadow
What is a Nature Play Area?
Nature play areas add more ways for people to connect with nature by encouraging self-directed, informal play. Unlike static, traditional playgrounds, nature play areas give children the chance to solve problems and construct their surroundings through natural elements and unstructured exploration.
Explore Wachusett Meadow's Nature Play Area
Boulders and logs and sticks and stones have become jungle gyms, teepees, and balance beams. There are places to explore, and plenty of room to build, create, and climb. A cool shady spot to play in summer, shallow pools to investigate on rainy days, and wildlife tracks and more to discover in winter. Benches await parents and weary kids ready for a snack. Come play!
