Canoeing at Wachusett Meadow

Canoes are available for rental May 1 through October 31 on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Canoes cannot be reserved; please call ahead to check on availability. Paddles and PFDs are provided—personally owned equipment is not permitted.

Cost & Rental Hours

Members, $10/hour • Nonmembers, $14/hour 

Please call ahead (978-464-2712) to check availability at least 24 hours before you plan to visit.

  • Canoe rentals are available Tuesday–Sunday & Monday holidays.
  • Minimum rental period is one hour.

Rules & Restrictions

  • Canoes may be rented only for use on Wachusett Meadow’s Wildlife Pond.
  • Personally owned canoes or other watercraft are not permitted on any sanctuary pond or wetland.
  • At least one 18 year old participant with signed rental form is required for each canoe rental; canoes can accommodate up to 3 people.
  • Personal flotation devices (PFDs) must be worn at all times while in Mass Audubon canoes.
  • For the safety of all participants and the protection of wildlife and habitat, posted regulations are strictly enforced.
