Entry & Parking Reservation System for Select Sanctuaries

While there is nothing we love more than welcoming people to our trails, we also want to ensure that everyone is safe during a visit—visitors and staff alike. For some of our more heavily visited wildlife sanctuaries, this is especially true.

To limit the number of people on the trails at any given time, we are testing out an Entry & Parking Reservation system at some of our sites.

For the next few weeks, we will be testing an online reservation system to visit based on entry time. All tickets must be obtained online in advance—you will not be able to get tickets onsite except at Blue Hills Trailside Museum (subject to availability). We will be adding more dates on a rolling basis.

The following sanctuaries will require a reservation:

Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary

Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary

Drumlin Farm Wildlife Sanctuary (weekends only)

Timed Entry FAQ

Why these sanctuaries?

The sanctuaries selected for ticketed entry typically experience heavy visitation, and reservations will help limit the number of visitors at any one time, for everyone's safety and enjoyment of the sanctuary.

Why do we have to reserve tickets in advance?

To ensure the safety of our members, guests, and staff, we are limiting the number of people onsite at any given time. In addition, reserving online and in advance enables you to make contact-less reservations.

How much is a parking reservation?

Tickets are free to Mass Audubon members. Reservations are also free for active military families, EBT cardholders, and ConnectorCare Card to Culture cardholders. If you have a Mass Audubon pass from your local library, admission is free except at Drumlin Farm, where there is a $2/person fee and 4-person max for library pass holders.

If you are not a Mass Audubon member, you can purchase parking/entry reservations at the following nonmember rates:

  • Broadmoor & Ipswich River: $10 per car
  • Drumlin Farm: $9/adult, $6/senior, $6/child (age 2 & older)
  • Blue Hills Trailside Museum: Free, donations appreciated

Or join today and get free admission!

How far in advance can I reserve parking?

For the moment, we are only offering parking/entry reservations 1-2 days in advance. We plan to have more flexibility to book further in advance in the future. Check the ticket reservation links listed above for updates.

Can I get reserve parking when I arrive at the sanctuary?

No. All reservations must be booked online in advance of your visit.

Will there be any restrooms or water fountains?

For everyone's safety, all buildings and restrooms are currently closed. That also means there are no water fountains available. Please plan ahead.

How long can I stay once I am there?

While you must arrive during your reserved time slot, you can stay for as long as you like. Be aware that there are no facilities on site—meaning no restrooms, water fountains, or picnic tables. Some areas of the property, such as Nature Play Areas and more crowded spots, may also be closed for social-distancing purposes.

What if I need to cancel?

Unfortunately, the reservations are nonrefundable, and we cannot accommodate any date changes at the moment.

What if I just joined Mass Audubon online and don't have a member card?

Thank you so much for your membership support! Your email confirmation of your membership will serve as your temporary membership card. Please show that email along with your ticket confirmation when you arrive.
