Tidmarsh Receives Grant for New Program Series

Studies suggest that exposing children to experiences in nature earlier in life is critical in developing their appreciation of nature as adults.

But things like cost, long distance transportation, and inexperience in the outdoors can make it difficult for some families to take advantage of nature-based programs.

That's why we are thrilled to announce that Tidmarsh is the recipient of a grant award from the Middleborough Cultural Council! The funds will support a new program that aims to remove some of those barriers that can prevent families from participating in nature-based experiences.

Presented in collaboration with the Middleborough Public Library, the new Nature Discovery & Story Hour program will be a six-week series that incorporates nature-based stories and play for children ages 3-6 and their families. The program is scheduled to begin in April.

We are grateful to the Middleborough Cultural Council for recognizing the importance of outdoor experiences for young children and their families. And we look forward to working with the Middleboro Public Library to connect with local families this spring!
