Stony Brook Day Camp | Philosophy & Credentials
Camp at Stony Brook is an exciting outdoor adventure for children. We strive to educate children about ecology so that they will be motivated and empowered to maintaining a healthy environment for generations to come. Activities are carefully planned to meet these goals and, at the same time, create fun and memorable experiences.
Campers are encouraged to explore and appreciate the miracles and mysteries of our natural world. Through hands-on learning, they come to understand their place in nature as well as the importance of preserving it. As naturalist and conservationist John Muir said, “When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to everything else in the world.”
Stony Brook Camp has more 50 years of experience in connecting children to nature through public, school, and camp programming. We are proud of our reputation of running a safe, organized educational program where each child matters.
Our camp complies with the regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (105 CMR 430) and is licensed by the Norfolk Board of Health.
American Camp Association (ACA) Accreditation
We are proud to be accredited by the American Camp Association. Developed exclusively for the camp industry, this nationally recognized program focuses on program quality and health and safety issues, and requires us to review every facet of our operation. Mass Audubon camps have voluntarily submitted to this independent appraisal conducted by camp experts to earn this mark of distinction. Learn more about what it means to be ACA accredited >
