Don't let a few inches of snow keep you from getting outdoors! There’s no better way to explore the woods in winter than by snowshoe.
Snowshoes can be used anytime there is at least 6 inches of snow on the ground. You can go it alone, or join a guided snowshoe walk!
When & Where
Just about all of our wildlife sanctuaries* welcome snowshoeing from January-March, and a few even offer equipment to rent or borrow.
Rent or borrow snowshoes when you visit:
- Blue Hills, Milton
- Boston Nature Center, Mattapan
- Broad Meadow Brook, Worcester
- Oak Knoll, Attleboro
- Pleasant Valley, Lenox
- Wachusett Meadow, Princeton
*Note: Snowshoeing is NOT available at Endicott, Joppa Flats, Nahant Thicket, Sampsons Island, or Sesachacha Heathlands.
