Summer CSA Features 18 Weeks of Organic Produce
Register by March 1 and save $50!
Plan for a summer of delicious meals by joining Moose Hill's CSA program! Get freshly-harvested, certified organic produce for approximately 18 weeks, from late May through September.
Purchasing a CSA share from The Farm at Moose Hill not only supports our farming partnership with Ward's Berry Farm—a local family-run farm—but also Mass Audubon's overall mission to protect the biodiversity and ecosystems of Massachusetts. We never use chemical fertilizers, chemical pesticides, or genetically modified plants; we only use organic applications. We also employ the use of compost, crop rotation, fallow fields, and cover crops to build soil health.
Each share can fill the weekly vegetable needs of a family of four (or two to four adults), depending on how often you cook and how central vegetables are to your diet.
What You'll Get
The season starts with leafy greens, spring onions, and radishes. In the height of summer, your share may include lettuce, radish, broccoli, heirloom tomatoes, plum tomatoes, sweet peppers, hot peppers, eggplant, sweet corn, melons, squash, and potatoes. As the season progresses, we also offer pick-your-own (PYO) opportunities at distribution. These typically include beans, peas, flowers, and cherry tomatoes.
In addition, each year we partner with other local farmers to offer our shareholders non-certified eggs from free-running chickens, courtesy of Chip-In Farm in Bedford or fresh fish from Cape Ann Fresh Catch out of Gloucester.
How It Works
- Choose the type of share you'd like—a Farm Share or a Work Share.
- Select the pick-up location and day that works best for you!
- Fill your own bags from a set list of freshly-harvested crops at your weekly distribution.
- Receive weekly emails with updates on what you'll receive at the next pick-up along with storage tips, recipes, and stories about our farmers and farming practices.
Types of Shares
With a Farm Share, you'll simply come to your pick-up location on your chosen distribution day; fill your bags with that week's selection of fresh, organic vegetables; and then head home—no extra work required!
With a Work Share, you'll save $75 on the cost of your share in exchange for committing 8 hours of your time (over the full 18 weeks) to harvesting, weeding, or helping at CSA pick-up.
Distribution Locations & Days
We're excited to offer two pick-up locations this summer! Please note that the location and pick-up date you select during registration is where you'll go to pick up your share every week for the entire season.
