Discovery Center Campaign — Project Overview
Donate Today > |
This project will enhance our ability to meet the community’s need for nature-based education and shape learning at Long Pasture for decades to come.
Our goal of $1.7 million will finance campus improvements including:
- new ADA-accessible visitor center, which will complement our existing building and support the rapidly growing impact of Long Pasture's visitor services and educational programs
- a licensed, full-time Nature Preschool in the existing building
- new endowment and current-use fund to sustain program growth into the future
Design components will be incorporated to provide maximum flexibility in use:
- Two indoor program rooms or the option of combining two spaces into one
- Built-in, durable, waterproof surfaces and plumbing to create a wet lab
- A reception space encouraging interaction with our staff and highlighting interpretive materials and living exhibits
This energy-efficient addition will be sized to fit our strategic plans for growth, the tradition of our historic district, and our modest budget. We will incorporate all-person accessibility and outdoor gathering spaces as well as easy access to our outdoor living lab—the spectacular Barnstable Harbor!
