Joppa Flats Summer Camp | Staff
Our Camp Staff
Staff are carefully selected for their maturity, ability to work with children outdoors, passion for nature, and enthusiasm. All undergo background checks, are certified in CPR/First Aid/AED, and receive training in child development, risk management, and natural history prior to the start of camp.
Camp counselors are at least 20 years of age, and After Camp staff are at least 16. Many are pursuing careers in education, ecology and conservation, and are always eager to share their knowledge. For all of them, camp at Joppa Flats is far more than "just a summer job."

Kirsten is certified in CPR/First Aid/ AED, Wilderness First Aid, and Small Watercraft Safety. She has 10 years of environmental education experience from positions with Mass Audubon’s Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary, AmeriCorps, and Great Basin Outdoor School. "Autumn," her camp nickname, comes from her love for New England’s most colorful season.
