Summer Camp Update

June 4, 2020

With sadness, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the following camp programs at our Topsfield location:
Discoverers (ages 4–5) • Young Naturalists (ages 5–6) • Teen Travel • Canoe Adventures • Counselors-in-Training

However, we are planning on running camp for ages 7–11 at our wildlife sanctuary—we're just not sure yet when it will begin. In the last two weeks, we received recommendations from the CDC and from the American Camping Association (ACA) on running a safe camp. With the state regulations for reopening camp available as of June 1, we are currently examining our camp policies and procedures and modifying them to meet or exceed these recommendations.

We will send out a handbook of our updated policies and procedures that will include the modifications Mass Audubon camps will be taking to adhere to the ACA, CDC, and Massachusetts Department of Public Health guidelines.

Explore the forests, fields, ponds, and river at the sanctuary. Take daily walks to the Rockery Pond, vernal pool, or canoe landing to gain a greater appreciation for the outdoors.
