School Program | Comparing Ecosystems Field Trip Series (1-3)

Field Trip Series: School-based introductory program followed by a field trip with a final wrap-up lesson at your school

Intro School Program: (one-hour) Students practice observation and journaling while exploring their schoolyard ecosystem.

Field Trip: (two-hour) Students investigate three ecosystems and observe the organisms inhabiting the wildlife sanctuary, comparing what makes each unique in its characteristics, structures, and needs.

Follow-up School Program: (one-hour) Students conclude the series with a series of activities, investigations and discussion routines in which they will demonstrate their understanding of why organisms are well suited to specific habitats.

Location: Field trip experience takes place at Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary

  • Classroom sessions (one-hour each, pre and post field trip), per classroom of fewer than 30 students: 1st hour Additional hours Standard Program: $160 $105 Additional mileage costs will also be applied to outreach programs.
