Preschool Naturalists

Full for 2020-2021 school year

Preschool Naturalists is an enrichment program for children ages 3-4. It meets once a week, for 30 weeks, from fall through spring. Many of the children who come attend other preschool programs on the other weekdays. Our mission is to encourage young children to enjoy and explore the outdoors through games and other learning experiences. We want to facilitate their natural curiosity and joy in the world around them and help them to establish a sense of ownership of this sanctuary. Children in the program have the freedom to play and interact with their environment, learning to appreciate the variety and scope of the natural world.

Mass Audubon membership is required to enroll; a $150 non-refundable deposit is required.

For Homeschool Students

Homeschool Naturalists is a seasonal, 10-week drop-off enrichment program for children ages 6–12 that takes place entirely outdoors. The habitats at Habitat are the classrooms as we observe the changes in nature throughout the year! Seasonal topics include pollinators, wildlife adaptations, maple sugaring, ponding, meadow sweeping, climate change, and a whole lot more. Classes meet once a week on the same day, with each age group meeting on a different day (ages 6-7, 8-9, or 9-12).
