Preschool Naturalists

Children playing on a log

Preschool Naturalists is an enrichment program for children ages 3-4. It meets once a week, for 30 weeks, from fall through spring. Many of the children who come attend other preschool programs on the other weekdays. Our mission is to encourage young children to enjoy and explore the outdoors through games and other learning experiences. We want to facilitate their natural curiosity and joy in the world around them and help them to establish a sense of ownership of this sanctuary. Children in the program have the freedom to play and interact with their environment, learning to appreciate the variety and scope of the natural world.

Spaces in this program are filled through a lottery system.

→ Applications for the 2020-21 school year lottery were due by 4:00 pm on April 15, 2020.

→ Completed registration forms must be received by July 7, 2020, at 4:00 pm to be included in the lottery. Due to the unprecedented circumstances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the deadline to apply for the lottery has been extended. We have also created an online version of the form. If you have any questions, please email Roger Wrubel.

Other Homeschool Programs

Celebrate your child’s birthday at Habitat!  We offer birthday parties from October to June for up to 15 children. Parties  include a 00-minute program, designed for children turning 6 to 10 years old, led by two Habitat teachers. Programs always include some time outside. Your guests then return to the library, where you may serve refreshments. Parties can be held weekdays, after school, or on weekends.
