Community Science

Classroom: Community Science depends on the research of students working to gather data to further our
knowledge of the natural world. Learn about Felix Neck's efforts to catalogue and document island species and how students can get involved.
Salamander Surveys: Students learn all about this
indicator species and where they spend their adult lives. Students will help to collect and study scientific data for this ongoing effort.
Horseshoe Crab Spawning Surveys (May or June only):
Students learn what makes this ancient species so unique and why it's important to protect them as our oceans change with our climate. By collecting and
studying scientific data, students understand implications for environmental policies at local and statewide levels.
