Group Programs for Children & Young Adults at Felix Neck
Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary offers a variety of fun and educational nature-based programs for Scout troops, birthdays, homeschools, and more. Programs include kayak tours, guided walks, butterfly garden explorations, live animal demonstrations, and much more!
The Boy and Girl Scout programs offered at Felix Neck allow scouts to work together to gain an appreciation for the natural world. Our educators are available to lead groups, exploring diverse habitats and covering natural history topics. We can design a program to fulfill the requirements of a specific badge. Self-guided hikes can also be arranged. Programs are offered after school, on weekends, and during school vacations. Ask us about opportunities for Eagle or Gold Award projects.
Make your child’s birthday truly memorable this year by having a party at Felix Neck. Birthday parties include a one-hour educational program and the use of our exhibit room for one hour. Programs can be customized for your child’s age and interest. Popular programs include: turtles and frogs, insects, animals in winter, and seashore discovery.
Our homeschool programs are designed to encourage children to interact with the environment through nature exploration and science-based learning and with each other through group building and games. Portions of the program will take place indoors, but most days we anticipate spending the majority of time outdoors at the wildlife sanctuary. Please contact the Education Coordinator to discuss curriculum planning for your homeschool group.
We have facilities available for rental by private and public groups and organizations.
