Know Your Food Programs at Drumlin Farm
Join us year-round to learn about, prepare, and appreciate seasonal, local produce.
If you love learning new techniques in the kitchen, want to meet your local farmers, or have the urge to get involved in the local food system, Know Your Food is for you! From the historical significance of a dish to the scientific properties that make it work, we will dig in together to make new discoveries about the food we eat through classes, workshops, and community events.
As a program of Mass Audubon, our values of conservation, scientific inquiry, and a love for nature inform our teaching—so Know Your Food takes a unique approach to food education. Programs bring you from the farm fields to the kitchen, encouraging curiosity through scientific and hands-on exploration; highlighting local, seasonal produce; and instilling an appreciation for the natural world that provides it.
What to Expect
A typical session might involve taking a stroll around the farm to harvest vegetables and herbs, listening to a lecture on the history of a certain crop (including honey!), tasting farm fresh products, and mastering new cooking techniques in the kitchen.
