Drumlin Farm invites you to see the amazing work accomplished by the Youth Leaders for Climate Justice (YLCJ) as part of their 2019-2020 season!

When the original Community Showcase scheduled for April 4 had to be cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions, the students quickly and flexibly continued their projects, working in remotely to develop this Online Showcase.

Climate change is an issue of justice. Vulnerable communities and our youth already disproportionately bear the harsh consequences of the climate crisis. Teens in the YLCJ program spent the past semester working on civic action projects to mitigate climate change in their communities, directly approaching climate change as a human and environmental justice issue.

This showcase is a culmination of community action work led by these committed and relentless high-school groups from the Boston and MetroWest areas. Each group researched and identified a project topic with the most potential impact to their community, following one of four tracks:

  • Reduction of Fossil Fuels
  • Climate Education
  • Trees & Plants
  • Food Systems

This video shows our young climate justice leaders presenting their YLCJ Climate Action Plans and pitching their Climate Justice Projects. We are excited to share the results of their hard work and are inspired by their commitment to community action on behalf of our environment.

Join us in celebration by watching and sharing this video!
