It's well known that "nature's bounty" includes healthful benefits for body and mind. Now, such benefits offered at our Berkshire Wildlife Sanctuaries will be directly available to patients of three Berkshire health care provides through the Massachusetts Cultural Council's Cultural/Social Rx initiative.

Patients will receive a Culture Rx voucher from their doctor, offering individuals and families chance to experience the restorative benefits of being in nature.

Research shows that spending just two hours a week in nature can make us happier and healthier. Mass Audubon is thrilled to partner with the Massachusetts Cultural Council to offer these important benefits to Berkshire residents and families.

Our wildlife sanctuaries in the region include Lime Kiln Farm in Sheffield, Pleasant Valley in Lenox, and Canoe Meadows in Pittsfield. Visitors—including from the community health centers—can enjoy inviting trails for all abilities; habitats such as woodlands, open fields, and wetlands; and lovely landscape views.

Patients can choose between three voucher options:

Option #1: Mass Audubon Family Membership

Mass Audubon members enjoy free admission to our spectacular statewide network of wildlife sanctuaries, offering hundreds of miles of trails and landscapes to explore. Receive discounts on programs, camps, and gift shop purchases, plus a free subscription to our Explore member newsletter. Benefits of membership >

Option #2: Mass Audubon Family Membership + Free Nature Program*

In addition to a family membership, sign up for a free in-person nature program (up to 4 people may participate). Mass Audubon offers nature-based programs for families, children, and teens in every season. Check out our upcoming programs >
