Group Programs for Children & Young Adults at Broad Meadow Brook
Broad Meadow Brook Wildlife Sanctuary offers a variety of fun and educational nature-based programs for scout troops, birthdays, homeschool, and more. Here, you can explore over 400 acres of woods, fields, streams, and marsh and look for 78 different species of butterflies, prowl for owls, and learn more about the Blackstone River Valley.
Broad Meadow Brook offers programs for all levels of Girl and Boy Scouts. Our experienced naturalists can guide you through a variety of outdoor badges. Programs are offered on weekday afternoons and Saturdays. Or Scouts can spend a Friday evening enveloped in the world after dark, then sleep indoors in our Visitors Center. Our naturalists will lead groups in a themed program inside.
Looking for a place to have a fun and memorable birthday for your child? Broad Meadow Brook offers birthday party programs for children turning age 4 and up. Parties will include a 1½ hour naturalist-led program, followed by time in our Program Room for gifts and refreshments. Please call 3 weeks in advance to allow ample time for scheduling. Parties can accommodate up to 12 children. Parents of invited guests are always welcome to stay. You must be a Mass Audubon member to book a party. Please contact us for information on how to join.
Broad Meadow Brook’s homeschool programs offer a friendly, cooperative learning environment for people of all ages. At the end of all programs, students receive follow-up information and activities so the learning can continue at home. Parents are welcome to attend with the student(s), but students may stay on their own if a medical form is on file with the wildlife sanctuary. Attend a scheduled homeschool program at the sanctuary or contact us to create a program for your homeschool group.
Our Third Week Wonders series (ages 3-5 with a caregiver), offers a thematic hour with a story, activity, and naturalist-led walk. Our Discovering Nature series (ages 4 and 5 unaccompanied by a caregiver), meets in 6-week sessions and explores nature indoors and out in a supportive social environment. Our Nature Adventures program (for children ages 5-7) focuses on a new nature topic each month through investigations, crafts, and activities. Or, treat your preschool classroom to a Wonder Walk, a gentle exploration of nature with a naturalist, at your location or ours.
The Broad Meadow Brook Conservation Center and Wildlife Sanctuary has facilities available for rental by private and public groups and organizations. We offer a unique, natural setting for business meetings, workshops, and social events.
