Broad Meadow Brook offers programs for all levels of Girl and Boy Scouts. Our experienced naturalists can guide you through a variety of outdoor badges. Programs are offered on weekday afternoons and Saturdays. Or Scouts can spend a Friday evening enveloped in the world after dark, then sleep indoors in our Visitors Center. Our naturalists will lead groups in a themed program inside.
Looking for a place to have a fun and memorable birthday for your child? Broad Meadow Brook offers birthday party programs for children turning age 4 and up. Parties will include a 1.5-hour naturalist-led program, followed by time in our Program Room for gifts and refreshments. Please call 3 weeks in advance to allow ample time for scheduling. Parties can accommodate up to 12 children. Parents of invited guests are always welcome to stay.
You must be a Mass Audubon member to book a party. Please contact us for information on how to join.
Broad Meadow Brook’s homeschool programs offer a friendly, cooperative learning environment for people of all ages. At the end of all programs, students receive follow-up information and activities so the learning can continue at home. Parents are welcome to attend with the student(s), but students may stay on their own if a medical form is on file with the wildlife sanctuary.
Attend a scheduled homeschool program at the sanctuary or contact us to create a program for your homeschool group!
Teachers can treat their preschool classroom to a Wonder Walk—a gentle exploration of nature with a naturalist—at your location or ours. Caregivers can choose from a variety of programs just for little ones:
- Preschool Story Hour (ages 3-5, with an adult) is a series that offers a thematic hour with a story, activity, and naturalist-led walk.
- Discovering Nature (ages 4-5 & 5-8) is a series with 10-week sessions divided by age group; ages 4-5 can enroll in class on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, or a combination; while ages 5-8 meet on Tuesday afternoons.
- Nature Adventures (ages 5-7) focuses on a new nature topic each month through investigations, crafts, and activities.
Broad Meadow Brook offers facility rentals for groups and organizations. Our location in Central Massachusetts provides a unique, natural setting on the outskirts of Worcester perfectly suited for conferences, workshops, meetings, parties, retreats, and reunions. Take advantage of all that our 430-acre wildlife sanctuary has to offer!
