Fall Community Open House at Brewster's Woods

An adult and two children walking on a trail at Brewster's Woods

Join us for an informative and fun fall afternoon outdoors together at Brewster’s Woods!

Our Brewster’s Woods design team has been working on the detailed plans for the site, focusing on incorporating input from the many community engagement discussions held over the spring and summer. We are excited to have arrived at a plan that reflects the enthusiasm we have heard from the community around the beauty and uniqueness of the property, the opportunities for education and enjoyment of nature, and a place for purposeful work on critical conservation issues. We are grateful to all who provided feedback; our plans are a direct reflection of your input and they are stronger for it.

We are eager to continue to share the emerging plans with the greater community at our community open house on November 6 from 1 to 3 PM. This session will focus on the plan for the property grounds:

  • Enhanced trail system (featuring an all-persons trail to the river)
  • Planned ecological restoration and ongoing stewardship of the property
  • Visitor service details around parking and access

Our staff will be available for walking tours, discussion of our ecological management practices, and reviews of the landscape design. We will also include a view inside the future nature center and exhibit hall, and descriptions of the indoor facilities for those who have not yet seen them. We are grateful that this special place is protected from development so the public can enjoy it, and so that it’s unique habitats can thrive for generations to come.

This session is open to the community, and light refreshments will be provided. Children are welcome to explore the property and join us for a nature walk to the river with one of our expert naturalists. Please RSVP by email to [email protected] by November 4 to receive parking information.
