Teens Present Project to Reduce Single-Use Plastics

BNC's Willow Tree Youth Leaders

After two years of hard work, BNC's Willow Tree Youth Leaders have devised an impactful project to reduce single-use plastic within schools! The group's effort was part of the Youth Leaders for Climate Justice (YLCJ) program led by Drumlin Farm.

Teens in the YLCJ program spent the a semester of their 2019-2020 school year working on civic action projects to mitigate climate change in their communities. The program enabled them to directly approach climate change as a human and environmental justice issue.

Now you can watch each group present their YLCJ Climate Action Plans and pitch their Climate Justice Projects in the YLCJ Online Showcase. This video is the culmination of all the community action work led by these committed and relentless high school groups from the Boston and MetroWest areas.
