Our unique location atop scenic Chickatawbut Hill invites campers to discover nature through hands-on exploration, creative play, and active learning. Each session features an age-appropriate theme intended to deepen a child’s understanding and awareness of the natural world. Small camp groups and experienced, caring staff create a friendly and safe atmosphere on "The Hill."

Camp Hours

  • Half Day: 8:45–11:45 am (Preschool Peepers)
  • Full Day: 8:30–3:00 pm
  • After Camp Option: 3:00–5:30 pm (Full-Day Campers)

Half-Day Sessions • Ages 3.5–4

Preschool Peepers (ages 3.5–4)
Counselor-to-Camper Ratio: 1:5
Preschool Peepers introduces your young child to camp at the Blue Hills! This three-hour, half-day program includes stories, crafts, games, and short hikes in safe, small groups of only five campers.

Full-Day Sessions • Ages 5–14

*Session includes an overnight

Chickadees (entering K–grade 1)
Counselor-to-Camper Ratio: 1:5
Chickadees experience the wonders of nature through hands-on exploration, games, stories, songs, crafts, and short hikes. Campers have opportunities for large and small group interactions, guided outdoor discovery, and imaginative play with friends.

Naturalists (entering grades 2–3) 
Counselor-to-Camper Ratio: 1:8
Naturalists investigate the many habitats and animals at Blue Hills through active learning, creative play, science experiments, and hikes. Campers make friends, practice teamwork, and engage their critical-thinking skills in small groups.

2019 Themes: Predator vs Prey | Puzzling Plant Life | Weather Wisdom

Explorers (entering grades 4–5)
Counselor-to-Camper Ratio: 1:8
Explorers delve deep into natural science by investigating Blue Hills’ ecosystems. Campers create positive relationships through team building and explore science experiments.

Adventurers (entering grades 6–9)
Counselor-to-Camper Ratio: 1:8
Leadership and adventure combine for this challenging and interactive camp experience in which campers learn team-building and outdoor skills.

Counselors-in-Training • Ages 15–17

Develop leadership and teaching skills, and gain valuable experience as you assist counselors in leading camp activities. An application and a three-week commitment are required to participate. Learn More >

To request an application, please contact the Camp DirectorApplications are due May 15. Applicants will be notified of acceptance on a rolling basis with training beginning mid-June. 

Extended Day Option

After Camp • 3:00-5:30 pm

Campers can choose from a number of quiet activities including board games and cards, or visit with the Blue Hills educational animals.

Registration is required. After Camp is not available to Preschool Peepers.
