Arcadia Nature Day Camp | Staff
Our staff is passionate about sharing the joy and excitement of the outdoors with children. In fact, many are Arcadia Nature Day Camp alums! Year after year, we are proud to receive exceptional feedback from camp families.
Staff Selection Criteria
Our counselors are carefully chosen for their enthusiasm, experience, knowledge, and ability to work with children in an outdoor setting. They are college graduates or undergraduates who work in or study an environmental or educational field. All undergo background and reference checks, are CPR and First Aid certified, and attend an intensive training program prior to the start of camp.
Camp Director: Patti Steinman
Patti has been part of the Mass Audubon family for over 28 years. Before coming to Arcadia Wildlife Sanctuary, she was Camp Director at Mass Audubon’s Blue Hills Summer Camp in Milton.
Patti has a Master of Science from Antioch University New England and is past president of the Massachusetts Environmental Education Society (MEES), and a former board member of the New England Environmental Education Alliance (NEEEA). In 2011, Patti received the 2011 Non-formal Environmental Educator of the Year award from NEEEA.
One of Patti’s favorite parts of camp is seeing children develop a sense of place at Arcadia as they transition from Woolly Bear to Counselor!
