  1. Once the ducks are launched they are on their own, except that the race committee reserves the right to free them if caught on the banks or other channel impediments.
  2. Winners will be identified by the number marked on the ducks that cross the finish line first. Each numbered duck is randomly assigned to an entry in the race.
  3. Decisions of the judges stationed at the finish line will be final. Mass Audubon employees and members of the Allens Pond Duck Derby Race Committee will not be eligible to win.
  4. Winners will be announced on the Allens Pond Facebook page at 7:15 pm on Sunday, August 16, 2020; they will also be notified by telephone, email, or U.S. mail with redemption certificates enclosed. Winners will be instructed on method of claiming prize but such claim is the sole responsibility of the prize winner. Winners should redeem prizes within one year unless otherwise specified.
  5. It is not necessary for "sponsors" of winning ducks to attend the online Race Viewing Party to claim prizes.
  6. Names of winners will be published on the Mass Audubon website and in local newspapers.
  7. The 2020 Grand Prize ("Dinner for Four Anywhere in the USA") is subject to the following—Grand Prize winner must be at least 18 years of age. Grand Prize travel must be between United States commercial airports. All travel must be completed by July 1, 2022. The lowest applicable excursion airfare will apply. Neither land arrangements nor airline tickets are transferable or refundable. Depending upon destination, there are dates referred to as "blackout dates" during which the trip cannot be taken. Winner must abide by airline rules regarding minimum stay and any other conditions which may be imposed on dates of travel. Allens Pond Wildlife Sanctuary will provide ground transportation and two nights of hotel accommodations (double occupancy), with any upgrade or extension of transportation and hotel cost at the expense of the passengers.
