Annual Duck Derby

Rubber ducks in the water at the Allens Pond Duck Derby

Date for 2021 TBD

Duck Derby is a fun annual event where thousands of rubber ducks—sponsored by individuals just like you—are released on an incoming tide for an epic race from Buzzards Bay into Allens Pond.

With fierce determination, they fight their way to the finish line where the first one to cross wins the Grand Prize! Many other lucky ducks will claim fantastic runner-up prizes, including a special honor for the "Slacker Quacker" (the last duck to finish the race).

This beloved event is the largest annual fundraiser for Allens Pond Wildlife Sanctuary, and all proceeds support the sanctuary's local ecological and outreach projects.

A roundtrip, two-night stay for 4 people anywhere in the United States!

This was a fantastic 17th year for the Allens Pond Duck Derby, and our first-ever virtual event was a smashing success! Some 3,024 rubber ducks raced on the incoming tide at Barney's Joy, and FUN 107's Michael Rock was there to call the play-by-play alongside Sanctuary Director Gina Purtell.

Please Note

You can peruse items on the auction website, but need to create an account to place a bid. Be sure to include your mobile number in your registration to receive text alerts about your bid. Your credit card will not be charged unless you are making a cash donation to Allens Pond (via "Make A Gift Now" button), or if you are the winning bidder. Email confirmations will arrive from Greater Giving and Mass Audubon—be sure to check all email folders and mark these as safe senders.

Grand Prize Sponsors

We are deeply grateful to this year's Grand Prize Sponsors. Because of their generosity, 100% of all duck sales directly support Allens Pond. Please consider supporting these local businesses and let them know you appreciate their support of Mass Audubon!

Mass Audubon is committed to reducing the impacts of climate change. To account for the carbon cost of the round-trip flights for the Grand Prize Winner's trip, we have purchased Help Build™ carbon offsets in partnership with NativeEnergy.
