Annual Duck Derby
Thursday, August 19, 2021
Duck Derby is a fun annual event where thousands of rubber ducks—sponsored by individuals just like you—are released on an incoming tide for an epic race from Buzzards Bay into Allens Pond.
With fierce determination, they fight their way to the finish line where the first five to cross win Grand Prizes! Many other lucky ducks will claim fantastic runner-up prizes, including a special honor for the "Slacker Quacker" (the last duck to finish the race).
This beloved event supports Mass Audubon's ecological and outreach projects.
Because this year marks both our 18th Duck Derby and Mass Audubon's 125th anniversary, we have some special treats in store!
→ To watch the race in person, you must register for Duck Derby Race Viewing. Paid registration is required ($15/person), as this is a staff-guided walk that crosses private property.
→ Read the Duck Derby Official Rules for more information about winner selection, prize claims, and event regulations.
